Do you want to really impress your lover/spouse on Valentine’s Day with something very personal that you chose? If so, you may want to order some Necco Sweetheart Candies and choose exactly what you want to say.

The company puts out about 80 different sayings each year. They to have about 20 new sayings, and then keep about 30 to 35 of the older ones like "Be Mine." They keep some sayings from previous years, especially if they were popular.

When you are choosing what you want printed on the candy, it is good to know that five letters will fit on the top line and four on the shorter line. The W is a longer letter, though, so if we use the W we do lines of four and three.

The oldest message that has been kept through the years is “Love You.” One of the most popular that the company said they would never let go is “Marry Me.” “Marry Me” is requested frequently, as you could well imagine. There are many creative ways that you could surprise your loved one with the personalized candies.

A spokesman for the company was asked, “You get personal requests?” and the answer was , “of course. People will write in saying, "I'm going to propose to my girlfriend and I want to cover the bed in Sweethearts.
Last year the new phrases were composed of a technology theme. Among those phrases were: "Tweet Me" and "Text Me." This year, their theme is "Get Moving." It's all about actions.

Last year the new phrases were composed of a technology theme. Among those phrases were: "Tweet Me" and "Text Me." This year, their theme is "Get Moving." It's all about actions. They still have phrases, such as "Boogie," "Shake It," "Hold Hands," "U Move Me.”

In the past, the company asked people to send in suggestions for things to write on the candy. The response was this, “We got over 10,000 submissions. The top 10, we ended up using. They were "You Rock" and "Puppy Love" and stuff like that. But we also got a lot of weird ones, like "Love Bacon." "Justin Bieber." Someone suggested "The Situation." "Beef Burrito." People would suggest individualized things like "You Rock, Amber."

If you prefer chocolate, Necco offers many more products, including, Mary Janes (peanut butter and molasses), Chocolate Raisins (Milk Chocolate Panned Raisins) and Necco Junior Wafers.

I can't believe we're already thinking about Valentine's Day, Fran! And I saw Easter eggs in one of the shops here! Pretty soon time is going to be flashing by so fast that all the shops will carry all the different holidays' goods all year round!
