A love tattoo design for females are lips. Lips represent a strong declaration of sensuality and a deep sexual desire. For a male, a lip tattoo shows his sexual appeal. So, to summarize, a lip tattoo for both sexes stands for intimacy and sexual love.
Wedding rings as love tattoos are also a popular design. Obviously, this tattoo shows commitment to each other. Some couples may choose to get this tattoo instead of wedding rings.
These tattoos that have been mentioned in this article are well-known, but perhaps you would want to make it even more personal and create your own “lover’s tattoo.”
Here are some interesting quotes about tattoos:
Tattoos are symbols that tell a story without using words. History of tattoos and body art, suggests that these indelible markings were worn for personal adornment, for marking a status symbol, signs of religious beliefs, forms of punishments and as a declaration of love. Love conquers all the other reasons to wear a tattoo. Love tattoo designs for couples are very popular. Some wear it to proclaim their undying love and some wear it in memory of their undying love. Whatever the reason may be, love tattoo designs are a mark of being in love forever. Here are a few love tattoo designs and their meanings.
Quirky is sexy, like scars or chipped teeth. I also like tattoos - they're rebellious. ~Jennifer Aniston
Louie brought his new girlfriend over, and the nicest thing I can say about her is all her tattoos are spelled correctly. ~Robert Harling, Steel Magnolias
[A] genuine tattoo.... tells a story. I like stories and tattoos, no matter how well done, and if they don't tell a story that involves you emotionally, then they're just there for decoration, then they're not a valid tattoo. There has to be some emotional appeal or they're not, to my way of thinking, a real tattoo. It tells people what you are and what you believe in, so there's no mistakes. ~Leo, tattooist, 1993, quoted in Margo DeMello, Bodies of Inscription, 2000
Paris Hilton has reportedly refused to be inked since her boyfriend Benji Madden (who by the way sports a fully tattooed body including one of Virgin Mary) said he doesn't like tattoos on women. "He is going to get one of me but he won't let me get one," purred Paris. "He doesn't like tattoos on women. He thinks I look pure.Sources:

Top-level comments on this article: (3 total)Hi Fran and how are you. I loved the article. If I'm to be honest Fran I have never liked tattoos on women, and men, well theirs have to be tastefully done and not to many for to get the thumbs up from me. I bet there 's a lot of regret now, than there is excitement among the people after getting their first tattoo. I can't understand why folk dont go for a trial run and have one you can wash off after time, it would save a lot of misery. Yes, I agree they can look great when done, however after a few years, when the skin ages, people tend to ask the tattoed person what it is they have inked into their skin because the designs tend to fade. Thanks for sharing Fran
Keep well
KacyHi Kacy,
I have been asking everyone about you - wondered if you were ill or something happened? We have really missed you!!
I personally don't have any tattoos - just wrote it because many people are interested in this subject. Thanks so much for your comment.
Fran, you're so diverse, it's inspiring! I'll never understand why people like or want tattoos, I think skin is perfectly beautiful as it is!Yes, I know what you mean, Jen. I am going to write you a lengthy e-mail but not sure if it will be today - I have a sick headache!
Thanks, you are always so supportive, no matter what I write.
Hugs, Fran
Great article, and lots of teens will be wanting tattoos for Christmas from their significant other...the tattoos don't seem quite the same after age 40. So glad I never had the urge. I do have pierced ears, which was the rage when I was young...now it doesn't seem so rebellious; and my mother's objections seem so trivial nowadays.
I do think fake tattoos would be a better expression, as they can be removed without selling all you own to get rid of them. Good job.You have a good point about fake tattoos. I wonder if people ever stop to think of the lifetime commitment of tattoos or how they will look when you are old and skin is wrinkled.
Thanks, Elle and Merry Christmas
