Taco Bell Being Sued For Strange Ingredients That Are Not Meat: Make Your Own Tacos & Live Longer

A class-action lawsuit was filed Friday in federal court by the Montgomery law firm. Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles against one of America’s favorite Mexican Food Chains, Taco Bell. Attorney Dee Miles stated that after an investigation, it was found that Taco Bell's "meat mixture" was less than 35 percent beef.

The United States Department of Agriculture defines ground beef as “seasoned flesh of cattle” and has to be at least 40% of meat to meet requirements. It seems that tacos from Taco Bell are allegedly 36% of meat.

You may be wondering what exactly is in these Mexican delights. Here are the ingredients: Isolated Oat Product, wheat oats, soy lecithin, maltodrextrin, anti -dusting agent, autolyzed yeast extract, modified corn starch and sodium phosphate.

I began to search the Internet for definitions of these ingredients. Here is what I found:

Wheat Oats: I searched the Internet and could find nothing called “wheat oats.”I found “wheat” and “oats” but no definition with that combination. I do know that both contain gluten.

Soy lecithin is a substance extracted from soybeans, using a solvent such as hexane. It is used for thickening, stabilizing or binding food together. But what exactly is it? Well, it’s a substance that is extracted from soybeans using a solvent such as hexane, and it’s a by-product of soybean oil.

Maltodrextren: A hidden sugar product that increases the shelf life of processed foods.

Anti-Dusting Agent: I could not find this anywhere on the Internet, so your guess is as good as mine.

Autolyzed yeast extract, which is an ingredient that contains MSG, an excitotoxin known to cause nervous system damage, migraine headaches and other problems that pose a very real risk to your health, according to information published by Dr. Russell Blaylock, author of Excitotoxins."

Modified Corn Starch: Starches may be modified to increase their stability against excessive heat, acid, shear, time, cooling, or freezing; to change their texture; to decrease or increase their viscosity; to lengthen or shorten gelatinization time; or to increase their visco-stability” (wikipedia.org).

Sodium phosphate is used as a meat preservative, as an alternative to sodium nitrite. This ingredient is used as a bowel preparation for a colonoscopy, which in some individuals may carry a risk of kidney injury.

Jim and I usually make our own tacos. At least I know the ground beef I am using is really ground beef (of course what is in the ground beef I buy from the store, is another story).

In my area of Florida, tacos from Taco Bell sell for 87 cents. Maybe the reason why, is because it allegedly, is only 36% beef. Maybe instead of asking for a taco, I should say, “ May I please have an “Isolated Oat Product, wheat oats, soy lecithin, maltodrextrin, anti -dusting agent, autolyzed yeast extract, modified corn starch and sodium phosphate?”

Very nicely done. I stopped eating fast food awhile ago, for the exact reason there is so much 'filler'. Of course, these fillers are cheap, and add weight, and so you have many (too many!) Americans getting obese. Well done.

We really don't know what we're eating while dining out anymore. I never was one for Taco Bell, but I'll have a #1 McDonald's meal anytime! Big Mac, fries, diet-coke. I know, I know. But I love it!

Very nice Fran. I read something about this, and is expected Taco Bell denies the charges, and intends to prove it in court. We shall see. I wait in delicious anticipation.:-)

I am a vegetarian Fran. I prefer it that way, but even vegetables are losing nutrition value with time as more and more farm lands are getting confiscated by the real estate mafia. This doesn't allow the soil any time to regain its fertility. Use of chemical fertilizers are also affecting food crops. I even see red apples in the market applied with wax to make them glow. :-) Thank you.

I am glad you wrote this. If half the American people knew what was in their so-called food, there would be a riot. Disease being created. I am a fan of Mike Adams as well as Russell Blaylock. Keep the information rolling.
