How To Make Your Man Happy-A Man’s Heart Is Not Through Stomach: It Is The Latest Electronic Device.

Since writing /swa680799-What-Is-The-Difference-Between-Men-And-Boys-Is-It-The-Price-Of-Their-Toys-Is.htm, I have come to realize that the way to a man’s heart is not through his stomach, anymore, it is through the latest electronic gadget.

This explains so much to me. At last, after all these years, maybe I am beginning to understand the opposite sex. Could this be an Aha moment for me?

A few months ago, Jim and I were invited to another couple’s house to check out their “Blu- Ray.” (I will use E-How’s definition: “Blu-ray is a high-definition optical disc format. By using a blue-violet laser, as opposed to the standard red laser to read and record data, Blu-ray allows for the storage of high-definition video and large amounts of data.”)

When we walked in the room, our eyes immediately went to a very large-screened television (don’t know how big, but probably the biggest). Now remember about the big television, as we will touch on that later. Anyway, I’ll call the couple Mr. and Mrs. X. Mr. X popped a Blu-Ray Disc into the Blu-Ray and our whole definition of entertainment changed at that moment. Suddenly, Bocelli and Celine Dion were standing right in front of us (or so it appeared) singing their hearts out. I was mesmerized. I fell head over heals with Bocelli, as I knew for sure he was serenading me. The sound system was as if we were at a concert. Actually, it was better than a concert, as I realized how comfy the couch was.

I didn’t want to leave, but for fear of us wearing out our welcome, I motioned to Jim that it was time to go. (After this many years, usually a certain look will do it). As we lingered near the doorway for a “thank you” and “good night,” I heard someone say something I could not believe.

A voice said, “Honey, we just have to get one of these ‘Blu-Ray’ players.” Wait, that voice was mine. I had been seduced by Bl u-Ray via the voice of Bochelli. I couldn’t believe my ears. I am the one who never wants to spend money on “those things.”

Then, something else happened. There was a light that went on in Jim’s eyes and a lilt to his voice. Right then and there, I knew I had reached him (romantically) the same way he reaches me when he gives me beautiful jewelry or perfume. No longer is that true (for me) that a way to a man’s heart is through his stomach - No, no, it is through his latest electronic devices.

Remember when I said, "when we walked into the room, our eyes immediately went to a large screen television?" On the way home from the visit with the other couple, I again heard myself say,"Honey, that sure was a beautiful television. How long do you think our television is going to last? We do have an anniversary coming up soon?" Am I becoming a Techni-Girl or am I just wanting to continue with a very romantic relationship by purchasing more electronics?

Valentine’s Day and our anniversary is coming up, if you have any suggestions on what electronic device that I could get for him, let me know. Guys, your advice is very much appreciated on this.

Remember ladies, Valentines Day is coming soon..

Your idea is good about the Blu-ray DVD player. How about the Samsung galaxy? It's awesome.

Haha....Fran, these days, men are like they want to possess the latest gadgets but I must remind you because your Jim has reached this age level that he wants to have these things and he can afford them. You are so clever to support the idea of upgrading your lives and I will see what I have in store for this coming Lover's Day.

Keep you informed.

Our children got us a big screen TV for Christmas. They knew their dad had wanted one for a while. Now we’re faced with getting different cable (to get high def) and a blue ray player? I don't understand any of it, all I know is I love Bocelli big screen or small. :) We had our last TV for seventeen years. If you look at all the years of enjoyment you’ll get from it, maybe if you consider it a gift to both of you for anniversary, birthday and Valentines you could do it? Watch the prices, they are still dropping significantly. If not though, my guess is your hubby would be happy with you receiving perfume and lingerie, technology may have changed some things, but some things remain the same.:) Fun article Fran.

I know what you mean! My fiance is in love with electronics. I like my computer, but that's it. But he keeps up with all the latest electronics. Great article! You are so right about the title! It is electronics, not the stomach!
