I was asked the question while participating in a poll, " what is the best thing about SearchWarp?" I think I typed in something like " the standards are high and it is a safe place to write and make friends." I later realized that I had to write an article and explain further because SearchWarp cannot be described in one sentence. It deserves my appraisal in a more specific way.
I began to submit my articles to various sites on the Internet, but it was not fulfilling. I never got any comments or response, so I didn't know if I could ever be a good writer or if I was a terrible writer. It was very discouraging. I also had a paid job with a local newspaper. Although the editor of the paper was always happy with my work, again, I did not receive any comments from the public, so the question always lingered in my mind "can I really write?"
SearchWarp was one of the sites that I submitted my articles to. I began to feel hopeful because I noticed with SearchWarp, other writers would comment on my articles. The comments were always encouraging and uplifting. The more comments I received, the more I wanted to write. It was/is like a never-ending circle of fulfillment.
I quit my paying newspaper job, so I could have more time to write for SearchWarp and just discover what I really wanted to write about. I am still discovering every day by experimenting with various subjects.
I now write exclusively for SearchWarp. SearchWarp has given me a voice. I can write about most any subject and the SearchWarp community will respond. I can enjoy a friendly debate over some subject. I have also enjoyed an educational journey, as I read the fascinating articles that range from "how to" articles, political, self-improvement, happiness, Internet, humorous stories, short stories and poetry. Just about any subject can be found on SearchWarp.
Facebook is the most popular site on the Internet, but it pales to the level of satisfaction and interaction with my friends at SearchWarp. I would actually go a step further and call these cyber friends a cyber family. The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other's life. Rarely do members of one family grow up under the same roof.
Richard Bach
The first thing I do every morning (after my quiet time) is going on SearchWarp to see what everyone is doing and writing about. It is a friendly place to visit and the problem is I want to stay all day. I suppose if I have an addiction, SearchWarp would be a good thing to be addicted to.
Search Warp gives me an echo to my writing as expressed in this quote:
I would hurl words into this darkness and wait for an echo, and if an echo sounded, no matter how faintly, I would send other words to tell, to march, to fight, to create a sense of hunger for life that gnaws in us all. ~Richard Wright, American Hunger, 1977
Thanks SearchWarp for sounding an echo.

Top-level comments on this article: (5 total)Nice article Fran. Search Warp is the only sight I have been on. I have never written before or even though about it so I am still struggling with can I write or not. Your articles are always a pick me up for me.
I always admire your quick delivery of articles and I also find that you are a good writer. Your words flow naturally and lively as you put word after word after word and complete a nice article for people to read.Fran, thank you for being so humble yet you are strong.
I'm pleased that you put these words into your terrific article, Fran. I also participated in the poll and have exactly the same feelings. I publish articles on a few other sites as well but I find that our fellow writers on SearchWarp are more responsive and personable. I find that mostly writing articles for and about horses may limit some of the comments I can expect to receive, yet there are several generous individuals that come through for me. Oh sure, I'd prefer to get more readers like you and the other greats on SearchWarp get but I'm immensely pleased I get comments at all. I love the comments so much! SearchWarp has the greatest bunch of writers and you have got to be one of the favorites!
Fran, I am finding out the same thing about this place. You are one of the people here who make it special.Grace
Like the comments from Old Gray Mare, here we can enjoy articles which are not written for marketing purposes, but to share own heart and thoughts which is always warm.
Fran, we love you too, and thank you.
