The Reality Show Craze: How To Be On The Best Reality Show Ever And Be A Winner

Have you noticed there is a reality show craze? People are doing all sorts of weird and crazy things just to be on one and consequently be somewhat of a celebrity. From there you could possibly be on another television show and who knows, after that? Maybe write a book?

There are several different kinds of reality shows. Maybe you want to lose weight. You could be on The Biggest Loser. If your talent is singing, you could sign up to be on American Idol or America's Got Talent. Even though these shows are supposed to be "spontaneous," you would likely be handed a script and given some rules. I am sure there would be legal papers to sign.

There is one reality show that doesn't require a certain script or legal papers. It is the G ame of Life. It does require your presence and willing to participate.

There are many ways to play the game. Some of television's reality shows are mean-spirited and devious. The participants try to win by planning and plotting, no matter who gets hurt. They usually win from what I have observed. Unfortunately, in the Game of Life, it is played the same way by some. Their planning and plotting to self-serve many times gets them what they are playing for.

There are some participants who approach a television game with a smiling face, just saying they want to have "fun." One could also say that in the Game of Life there are some who only want "fun." In the Game of Life , many times I am one of those individuals. I only want the fun things that make me laugh. I don't want any sadness or disappointment.

Some individuals are on a television reality show to financially assist a grandmother in her old age or fulfill a lifetime dream. They have a goal and if they combine that goal with their talent, many times they will win. I love it when someone wins who is the underdog or unglamorous. They win on sheer talent and determination.

A few television game participants will drop out. The pressure becomes too much for them or life's circumstances force them to quit. In the same way, some drop out of the Game of Life. Some drop out indefinitely and some just need to drop out for a while to heal or catch their breath. Maybe they are overwhelmed with life's heartaches and disappointment or hopes and dreams are shattered. (Dr. Phil is always saying, "You need to get back in the game.")

You may be asking, "How can one drop out of life?" My humble answer to that is that one can go through the motions of everyday living (eating, sleeping, working, etc) and not really we living because they are not really aware. (I am guilty of not being aware or paying attention to life at times. Maybe an answer to my problem is right in front of me, but I am spiritually unconscious and cannot recognize it.)

What kind of participant are you in this Game of Life? I imagine we all have been like some/all of those game participants that I have mentioned at some time or another. We are all human. At different stages of life, we are choosing to play the game in a different way. If we need to drop out for a time, the sooner we get back "in the game," the better off we will be.

Salman Rushdie said, Live on, survive, for the earth gives forth wonders. It may swallow your heart, but the wonders keep on coming. You stand before them bareheaded, shriven. What is expected of you is attention

Love the concept of the "game of life"! Now, if only we were handed the rule books and legal papers.... :)
