How God Gives A Sign Every Spring That Promises Eternal Life For Believers

I stared in wonder this morning as I realized the Chinaberry Tree in the back yard had popped out all kind of green leaves just on cue. Like an orchestra being led by a conductor, the Chinaberry Tree knows it is spring and it is time to “pop out.” I noted this morning the Cardinals were finally making a visit to the Chinaberry Trees. (The male Cardinal is bright red and can’t be missed. The female does have some red on her, but she is not as showy as the male.)There are other signs that spring has come to the Highlands. Flowers are popping out all over. The orange blossoms have an aroma that is so fragrant and sweet. I see grandchildren here for spring vacation. Everyone is pulling up weeds and more weeds.
However, one of the most delightful moments was when I was sitting on my friend’s back porch (with a group of Ladies). Someone noticed something spectacular.
“Look, everyone, look!”
The Pine Tree in Nancy’s back yard was studded with little golden crosses . The Pine Trees knew it was Easter Season, as well as spring. (I have read that a few weeks before Easter or spring, the tallest shoot will branch off and form a cross. As the days go by, the crosses multiply and soon the tallest tree branches will bear small yellow crosses.) We all were taken aback by the miracle of nature and how all nature announces spring. (If you want to see a picture of how that tree looked, go to http://wandascountryhome.com/pinetrees/index.
We all looked at each other with the same look. No one had to say a word. We all knew that our Savior died on the cross so that we may have eternal life. Perhaps the tiny golden crosses on the Pine Trees was a reminder from God
1 Peter 2:24, " and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. "

Top-level comments on this article: (4 total)Hi Fran,I loved this article. It was so descriptive! AND... I learned some new things. I never knew about the Chinaberry Tree. Nor did I know about the crosses on the Pine Tree... although I have seen them many times, I never made the connection. I will never again be able to look at a Pine Tree the same way because of the Cross!Thank you,MarkThanks, Mark. I didn't know about the crosses on the Pine Trees and I have been in Florida all my life. Guess we both learned something. It was quite an amazing thing to see!
Deawing our hearts towards Him! I would hate to live in the southern where Easter is in winter and Christmas is in hot summer -weird and wrecks all my "death to life and up from the grave - tulip and iris" analogies. My friend lives in Australia and will spend June with us and go back to winter and sweater weather. You probably wouldn't be happy in Florida, as we don't have "seasons" like you do. Often, Christmas is hot weather - you just never know.
Marijo, it's me - fran larson...and I did log in. Oh, well!
Very nice article Fran. I loved the picture you attached of the pine tree. I love it when I wake up in the morning and hear the birds singing. Makes me think about God even more. Thanks for sharing.Linda, the picture was nice but to see it first hand was amazing. A, too love to hear the birds sing in the morning. It's my therapy. Thanks for your comments.
