Sadly, Chris Henry did not make it. He died early this morning after being in serious condition. This is such a sad time for his family and his faithful fans and obviously a sad time for the Bengals.

It seemed that just when he was turning his life around, he lost his life. After having some difficult personal problems, he seemed to be turning his life around.

Chris Henry was engaged to Loleini Tonga, and the couple has been raising three children. Tonga's MySpace page identifies herself as "Mrs. C. Henry" and has a picture of her next to a person who appears to be Henry.

Before the 2009 season, Henry got a new tattoo that matched his new outlook on life. Below his left ear, in flowing one-inch script, was the world "Blessed."

"I kind of felt like I dug myself out of the hole and started doing the right things," Henry said in an interview with The Associated Press as training camp opened. "People say, 'How you feeling now Chris? You doing all right?' I just tell them I'm blessed. That's why I got it."

Here are some tweets about Chris Henry: Thu Dec 17 16:16:28 +0000 2009 11:16 AM Dec 17 by NFLFanHouseLewis on Henry: We've seen a continual growth of Chris, and a degree of responsibility. Quite an expansion on the field & off the field.

Thu Dec 17 16:12:58 +0000 2009 11:12 AM Dec 17 by NFLFanHouseMarvin Lewis: Watching him mature as a player and a father ... was pleasing to see. ... It's a very difficult thing with his loss

11:17 AM Dec 17 by NFLFanHouseBengals owner Mike Brown: I don't regret (giving him a second chance). ... He was someone we liked and thought could restart his life.

It is sad to think that Chris was just now beginning to turn his life around; he was just beginning to enjoy his family and appreciate them. He was maturing.

Once again, we are reminded that life is so fragile and so short. We have only a certain amount of time to figure out what really is important in life.

H Fran this is sad news. I see you gave mention of him in your last article also. I would love if you had the time to quickly enlighten me on to who he is so I can try and understand who he was and from what he was turning his life around from. In the meantime I will google Chris Henry and hopefully get the laddie you refer to. Thanks for sharing

Keep well

Hi Fran Kacy here again I now know who he is, a sports star. Just been reading up on the incident. Very sad to think he died trying to save his relationship if his girl was driving the truck he jumped onto the back of.
