Alexa Ray Joel Overdoses At 23. Mom Christie Brinkley Just Getting Over Divorce Trial. What Now?

There is more bad news for Christy Brinkley Christy's daughter and ex-husband, Billy Joel's daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, 23 has been hospitalized for a drug overdose. Reports from a New York Hospital say that she is in stable condition. It has not been confirmed that this was a suicide attempt.

Some speculate that since both parents are going through a divorce, maybe the stress from these situations caused Alexa to be quite upset. Other rumors claim that Alexa had broke up with her boyfriend'

At this time, it was reported that since the caller for 911 was a female, perhaps the caller was Alexa's roommate.

Billy Joel (William Joseph Martin Joel, born May 9, 1949 in Bronx, New York), (19851994). [23] Brinkley and Joel met in 1983 on the Island of St. Barts, in the Caribbean. Joel and Brinkley were married on March 23, 1985 on a yacht on the Hudson River and this was the second marriage for both. Joel was 35 and Brinkley 31 and took their vows in a private ceremony attended by 175 family members and friends, including Paul Simon and the Straycats Band.(wikipedia)

According to the New York Times, Ms. Joel, (York Times) has embarked on a music career of her own, releasing an album, "Sketches," on her own label in 2006.

"For the most part, I call what I'm doing pop/soul blues' with a little bit of jazz," she says in a biography on her MySpace page. "It's a classic pop style very influenced by my father, Ray Charles, Norah Jones and Billie Holiday."

Ms. Joel had two performances scheduled for Dec. 10 in New York City, including at the New York Stock Exchange's Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

It seems that Christie Brinkley has had her share of troubles lately. She has been married five times. Her last husband was Peter Cook. Her divorce from him was officially finalized on October 3, 2008.

Christy has been active with countless charity causes and has also given money to many charitable organizations.
