Even though he has shed 95 pounds in 10 weeks, It just wasn't enough. Allen fell below the yellow line and was voted to go home. His competition (yellow line) was Liz. He didn't leave with tears or anger or even regret. No, not Allen. He left with a smile from ear to ear and thankfulness that he could be on the biggest loser and accomplish this feat.
Allen is from a large family where food was presented as a comfort. Since college he had gained over a hundred pounds.
The weight that Allen had gained during his adult life finally began to affect his career of being a firefighter. More than once while he was on the biggest loser, he expressed concern that due to his physical condition, it could hamper his job of saving lives. In addition, he was also afraid that he could not pass the physical this year that would allow him to continue being a firefighter. His goal was to be a better father husband and citizen. He also stated that he didn't want his daughter to be teased because he was overweight.
For Allen, I think the key was perseverance. It was Lee Iacocca who said: "You've got to say, I think that if I keep working at this and want it badly enough I can have it. It's called perseverance."
I know Allen will lose even more weight now that he is at home.
The Biggest Loser ended by showing Allen working out with his wife, Frankie and racing outdoors with his beautiful daughter
Gotta go. He's now on the Jay Leno Show. .
