November is a busy month and certainly not boring with Thanksgiving, too. However, we have many more things to observe in November. It is Aviation Month; Child Safely and Protection Month; Good Nutrition Month, International Drum Month; Latin American Month, National Adoption Month; National Epilepsy Month; National Model Railroad Month, Peanut Butter Lover's Month; National Children's Book Wee (second week of November) and American Education Wee (third week in November)
It is Fran Larson Day!
What a relief. My body suddenly relaxes and I have visions of what may transpire today. Sunny's tail is about to wag off as I tell him secrets of today's possible events.
The first thing I have to do is tell my husband, Jim. It is vital that he know, lest he tries to remind me of tasks that are undone or glare at my pajama-clad body. I soften my proclamation with a hall pass for him to have unlimited golf, out to lunch or whatever works for him. Now the groundwork is set and the day belongs to me and only me.
I may choose to snuggle up with Sunny and watch a movie and/or eat popcorn and chocolate. I may stare at the hummingbird and squirrel; each playing a separate game in my chinaberry tree. I may choose to get in the car and explore inviting roads and byways. I may light a candle and do yoga. Actually, I may just stare into space with my coffee and allow any dream, wish or thought to come into my head.
Is this selfish? Maybe. Is it healthy? I think it is. Just as troops in the military regroup after a battle, my mind, my thoughts need to regroup. After my alone time and regrouping, I am ready to face the world again with a new calmness.
I challenge you, my good Reader Friends to be your own best friend and declare a holiday in your name. May your soul be renewed. May your marriage or partnership reap many benefits because you choose to do separate activities or just spend the day alone sometimes. Kahlil Gabran said it best:
"But Let there be spaces in your togetherness and let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls ."

After reading your article, it reminded me of a quote that I recently came across . . . . ."The basis of your life is absolute freedom, the goal is joy, and the result of that perfect combination is motion forward, or growth. Your goal is to find objects of attention that let your cork raise."Wishing you much 'joy' in your life!
