"It happened down by the hill where the Barisa young 16 year old girl was going to be married. Her husband-to-be was killed. As the handed-down story goes, the young girl, who was clad in a white dress, committed suicide. At that time, police said that they saw her (the ghost) in a white dress."

Perhaps it is this same young girl's ghost that has wandered in Annetta's Attic and found a home amid the beautiful old antiques in several different rooms.

" We discovered the ghost about 5 years ago. My daughter Lisa, who is also my partner noticed it first and didn't say anything. At first, it was just a presence. You are aware that something is around you. You are not sure what it was, but you thought you saw something. Then, customers begin to tell you things that they had experienced."

Her daughter said that over the years, at least 30 people ask about or tell about something that happened to them while in her shop. Sometimes it is a prank and other times a "presence."

Annetta said that the ghost's name is Amanda or Amilia. She is friendly but likes to do tricks on people. She is referred to as "our guest."

Amanda/Amilia will sometimes destroy children's toys. Annetta doesn't know if it relates to the fact that the building she is in once housed what was then called Children's Services. The main counter that holds her cash register was also once a switchboard Children's Services..

Everyone can draw his or her own conclusions, according to Annetta.

Interesting article, Fran. I would be interesting to have it expanded into more of a story.
