Life has always included stress, but these days it seems that stress is at an all-time high. Every day that passes, someone is losing a job or explaining to their children why they can't buy them as much. Money is tight; the housing market has declined. The future seems to be a big question mark for many.
Also, we live in an uncertain world; countries at war, unrest and threats to our very lives. It is no wonder that most of us are "stressed-out."
1. Exercise regularly and if possible, the first thing in the morning. This releases natural endorphins that act as an anti-depressant.
2. Surround yourself with positive and/or faith-filled people. (It really will rub off on you.)
3. Find someone that needs help or attention and give it your all.
4. Begin a gratitude journal. If not written, at least review in your head. Once you are truly grateful, you begin to be thankful and look at a situation differently.
5. Acquire a hobby or something to look forward to each day, even if it is just a crossword puzzle or sudoku.
6. Eat healthy. Plenty of veggies and fruit will make you more energetic and stronger, thus able to cope with stress better.
7. The first few minutes after you awake in the morning, take some quiet time to get in touch with yourself and/or pray. You will be surprised how that alone will amour you for the problems of the day.
Take one day at a time. Someone once said, "Life by the inch is a cinch, but live by the mile is a trial."
