Should We Stop Supporting Celebrity Tell All Books?

Maybe I am just jealous, but there are so many of us knocking ourselves out to write good literature, only to be passed up for the latest "tell all" book. There are many writers far talented than myself who have honed their skills throughout the years and have educated themselves about writing through college or other means. Then, along comes a celebrity whining about the latest rehab experience or to expose the people in their life who have done them wrong and poof - they have a few more bucks in their pockets.
These celebrity so-called reasons for writing (usually ghostwriting) a book is that they want to "help" someone who might be going through the same situation or they want to "set the public straight" on who did what to whom? The added book to their life resume only promotes the narcissism and selfishness that they carry within themselves. In addition, they are apparently in their own world and cannot see beyond what is happening in their life.
Many are even posing as health-care experts by giving advice to very ill people in regard to medications, treatment choices, etc.
Lets face it. We all have problems. We all go through heartache, illness and now hard economic times. The downside for us is that we do not have the "celeb" to write a book and make additional money only because they are "known."
In my opinion, these people need to really know what is going on in the real world and also realize that everything is not about them.
I don't usually write negative articles, but I think I am overloaded with information written by the famous that is nothing more than a moneymaking machine.
Many talented writers may be crowded out of the publishing industry, even though they have much more to say than explaining the latest fling or how they lost weight.
Yes, I will always support and love our freedom of the press, but do we have to keep buying and supporting these less than talented celebrities who always have an agenda?
